Building Resilient Community Energy Systems Webinar
This webinar took place on 6th November 2024 convened by CESET team member Harshit Vallecha. This webinar explored the strategies to realize resilient community energy systems which can withstand unforeseen natural hazards, climate change induced risks and socio-political disruptions. Building resilient community energy systems is critical to ensure clean and reliable energy access to vulnerable communities residing in remote and risk prone regions, especially in developing countries of Global South. Realizing resilient communities and sustainable energy infrastructure are particularly relevant in achieving the goals of SDG-7 (energy access), SDG-11 (resilient communities) and SDG-13 (climate action).
This event brought together the researchers and practitioners working in the space of sustainable energy transition in Global South. It included presentations on diverse topics exploring interrelationship between community energy systems and community resilience, role of gender equality and social inclusion in building resilience and similar streams. There was a panel discussion with experts on central theme, 'how to build resilient community energy systems in practice'? This event provided an opportunity for exchange of ideas among participants and building new collaborations.
